Manohari Devi Kanoi Girls’ College is an eminent higher educational institution for women in upper Assam. College has been imparting Arts education in undergraduate and higher secondary courses since it was established in the year 1963. Students from Assam and neighbouring states join this College for their education. Since the year 2016 it has been imparting undergraduate courses in Science. College has been trying to provide quality education to the students along with their all round personality development. Ratna Dutta Memorial Lecture at MDKG College-
Late Ratna Dutta who was a well known radio artist, playwright and professor; memorial lecture was held on 29th of June 2024 in the premises of MDKG college science block of Dibrugarh. The lecture was entitled “Trauma, Violence and Suffering: Its Reflection in History and Literature” and was attended by Professor Dr. Chandan Sharma, Head, Department of History, Dibrugarh University as the resource person. After lighting the lanterns, the Principal Dr. Nibedita Phukan delivered the inaugural address by remembering the late Ratna Dutta and introducing the college addressed to the respected guest. Former Vice-President Dr. Anju Bora and Coordinator of Internal Quality Assurance Cell Dr. Utpal Sut delivered brief speeches recalling the presence of late Ratna Dutta. Speaking on the theme “Trauma, Violence and Pain: Its Reflection in History and Literature”, Dr. Sharma said that trauma is a psychological issue and it can be in national and personal life. The event was attended by former and current teachers and students of the college family, teachers of various colleges in Dibrugarh district, research scholars of Dibrugarh University and many dignitaries. The event was conducted by Dr. Chandanjyoti Chutia, Assistant Professor, Department of Assamese. The program concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr. Chutia.
World Sparrow day celebration on 20th March 24
– Dept of Zoology is going to organize a photography competition and a talk program on the occasion of World sparrow day on 20th March 24.
– Organic bird nest will also be installed at the college campus.
SPIC-MACAY Dibrugarh Chapter and MDKG College presents Cinema Classic Module. On this occasion a screening of The Making of the Mahatma will take place. Along with it, Mr. Rajit Kapur will interact with the audience. Date: 14th March, 2024. Time: 2:45 pm
